Learn Czech

The phonology of Czech can be quite daunting for speakers of other languages as some words do not appear to have vowels: zmrzl (froze solid), ztvrdl (hardened), scvrkl (shrunk), čtvrthrst (quarter-handful), blb (fool), vlk (wolf), and smrt (death). There is also a famous tongue-twister containing only consonants: Strč prst skrz krk. (Stick your finger through your throat)

Conversation Piece offers a wide variety of Czech language training options to suit your availability and tuition needs. Whether you wish to learn Czech in a one-to-one with a trainer, you and your partner wish to learn Czech together or you and a small group of friends wish to take Czech lessons together, we can arrange for a Czech trainer to come to your preferred location (your home, your office etc.) or we can arrange for you to use our training room (week days only).

Our teachers recommend a minimum of 1.5 hour lesson per week but this is entirely flexible.
